Precision Fertility Care for Male Factor Infertility

ICSI Treatment at Sriram Hospitals

When the journey to parenthood becomes challenging due to male infertility or previous IVF failures, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) offers new hope. At Sriram Hospitals, we specialize in advanced ICSI treatment, delivering world-class reproductive technology with personalized care and high success rates.

ICSI is a breakthrough fertility technique where a single healthy sperm is directly injected into a mature egg, overcoming severe sperm-related issues that prevent natural fertilization. With the latest lab infrastructure and expert embryology team, we help couples achieve pregnancy, even in the most complex cases.

What is ICSI?

ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is an advanced form of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), particularly used when there is male factor infertility or previous fertilization failure in conventional IVF. In ICSI, a skilled embryologist selects one healthy, motile sperm and injects it directly into the cytoplasm of an egg using a microneedle under high magnification.

This direct fertilization technique bypasses all natural barriers, making it ideal for couples with poor semen quality or unexplained fertilization issues.

Step-by-Step ICSI Treatment Process at Sriram Hospitals

Our ICSI process follows a carefully monitored and highly personalized approach to give you the best chance at success:

1. Pre-Treatment Evaluation

  • Hormonal profiling (AMH, FSH, LH, TSH, prolactin)

  • Semen analysis and DNA fragmentation testing

  • Ultrasound scan to assess ovarian reserve

  • Lifestyle and fertility counseling

2. Ovarian Stimulation

  • Hormonal injections are given for 8–12 days to stimulate multiple egg development

  • Frequent ultrasounds and blood tests monitor follicle growth

3. Egg Retrieval

  • A minor outpatient procedure done under sedation

  • Mature eggs are collected from the ovaries via transvaginal ultrasound guidance

4. Sperm Collection & Selection

  • Fresh semen sample or surgically retrieved sperm (in cases of azoospermia)

  • Sperm are washed and prepared in our advanced andrology lab

  • A single motile and morphologically normal sperm is selected under a microscope

5. Micromanipulation (ICSI Procedure)

  • The selected sperm is injected directly into each mature egg using a microneedle

  • This is performed under high-resolution microscopes in a sterile, temperature-controlled IVF lab

6. Embryo Culture & Monitoring

  • Fertilized embryos are cultured for 3–5 days

  • Our embryology team monitors embryo development using time-lapse imaging and grading systems

7. Embryo Transfer

  • The best-quality embryo is transferred into the uterus using a thin catheter

  • This is a painless, non-surgical, daycare procedure

8. Luteal Support & Pregnancy Test

  • Hormonal support (progesterone) is provided to assist implantation

  • Pregnancy is confirmed with a blood test (beta-hCG) after 14 days

Who is ICSI Recommended For?

  • Our fertility experts recommend ICSI for:

  • Severe male infertility: low sperm count (oligospermia), poor motility (asthenospermia), or abnormal morphology (teratospermia)

  • Obstructive azoospermia: no sperm in ejaculate due to blockage (sperm retrieved via TESA/PESA)

  • Previous IVF failure due to poor or no fertilization

  • Use of frozen sperm or surgically retrieved sperm

  • Use of donor eggs or embryos

  • Egg fertilization challenges despite normal sperm count

  • Couples with unexplained infertility

  • Older women with reduced egg quality

Success Rates with ICSI

At Sriram Hospitals, our ICSI success rates are among the best in the region. While results vary depending on age, egg quality, and underlying fertility issues, ICSI significantly improves fertilization rates in cases of male infertility or past IVF failure.

We use state-of-the-art technology, including high-magnification microscopes and micromanipulators, to ensure the best possible embryo quality and implantation outcomes.

Turn Hope into Reality

ICSI is a powerful tool that makes parenthood possible for couples facing even the most difficult fertility challenges. At Sriram Hospitals, we combine cutting-edge science with personal care to turn that hope into reality.

If you’ve been told that natural conception is unlikely due to male infertility or failed IVF attempts — ICSI might be the breakthrough you need. Our fertility team is here to guide you, support you, and walk beside you on the journey toward your dream.
